Story
In brief: Dad signed me up for Ride 100. He didn't get a place and I did. I don’t currently own a bike. I've dragged him in anyway. Wish us luck.
The serious bit: We’re riding in memory of George Chiverton, Dad’s godson, who sadly decided to leave us in 2015, at the age of 21. George
had such an infectious humour and fun personality, to say the news was a bit of a shock is an understatement. Sadly, George wasn't and isn’t alone as male suicide is at an all time high in the UK and other countries around the world.
The why: To remember George and to raise money for Mind, an amazing mental health charity whose work is ever more important each day.
The ask: Please donate what you can, even if it’s only the
money you might have spent on a couple of coffees, every single penny counts and we’ll be very grateful.
OPTIONAL: For those wanting to go the extra mile, please do come along on the day and if you can be waiting at the finish line with a glass of Prosecco for me and beer for Dad, we’ll be thrilled (!)
