Story
So four years ago my wonderful Mum passed away from the Big C. The final 2 months of her life were spent in the amazing care of the angels that work at Katherine House, a local hospice that look after those that unfortunalty have life limiting conditions. All the staff from the chef to the cleaners to the nurses to the receptionist are the most incredible people that made my Mum's final few days as comfortable as possible. Not only did they care for Mum but they also cared for us through what was the most terrible time of our lives, knowing exactly what to say just at the right time and who offered a shoulder to cry on when you didn't want others to see you crumble. I said when Mum passed away that I would run a 10km that year in her name but unfortunately things always seemed to get in the way....but now is the time!!!! On the 24th Sept me and a few friends will be running the Stafford 10km and raising money for charities that are close to our hearts. My wish is that Katherine House remains always as our local hospice as everyone should be treated with the same love, kindness and respect that my Mum received from these inspirational people. Without raising money through fundraising events and donations KH wouldn't exist and that can not happen! I've been training hard since Jan this year with my friends having never been a runner and fingers crossed I think I'm finally there. It won't be pretty but my god I will do it with my Mum by my side the whole way. If you would like to sponsor me please do so through this site and it will go directly KH in Mums name. Please dig deep people. Big kissses and wish me luck 😀😘 x
