Hey everyone,

Last year, after only a few months after finishing chemo, I ran the London Marathon for the Family Holiday Charity and managed to finish and raise the money I had pledged.

This year, just before my next leukaemia check is due, I am appealing to you again. Because family matters. Family is everything, in fact.

So after last year's good start I knew it was time to bring in some help. I have therefore asked my travel industry family and they have risen to the occasion. 

We are 8forTravel and we are running the 2022 London Marathon and raising money for the Family Holiday Charity because there are many families who struggle to make ends meet never having the opportunity to spend quality time together and take a break. Family Holiday Charity helps families get time away together, often for the first time ever. They’re here for children who've never seen the sea. For teenagers who can't remember when they last saw mum smile. For parents having to choose between a day out and a pair of school shoes. For young carers, and families facing illness, isolation, or bereavement. Holidays open up new possibilities. 

Time spent together helps build relationships, confidence and hope for the future.

A lot of us currently work in the travel industry and see on a day to day basis how holidays help people in more ways than one. We know the money raised here will help so many families and this is why we will be running the London Marathon.
