Story
Luca Pucella was a pupil at Headlands School who suffered from the rare and life limiting illness called ROHHAD syndrome and sadly passed away on Saturday 25th November.
ROHHAD syndrome affects only 75 people in the world and with it comes complex medical requirements. Despite this Luca had a lot of energy and he wanted to make a difference to the world.
Luca had met another young boy who had recently been diagnosed with the same illness as him and he felt very passionate about raising money. Luca had been planning a fundraising cycle ride with Matthew Burns the Headmaster before he passed away and so the staff and pupils at Headlands would like to help him fulfil this generous wish.
‘Luca’s Ride for ROHHAD’ will take place on Thursday 21st December, leaving Headlands School at 1.00pm taking a route along the barrage from Penarth to Cardiff, followed by refreshments and a celebration of Luca’s time at Headlands School at 2.00pm.
