My name is Lucas James Douglas, I’m a 9 year old heart warrior! When my mummy showed me the bubble rush event, it looked super fun! She explained why they do it and I said I wanted to take part and help raise as much money for them as I can. 

Hello my name is Samantha Douglas (Lucas’s mummy) I wanted to write a little about my gorgeous kind boy! Lucas isn’t your average 9 year old. Lucas has a congenital heart defect and has had 4 open heart surgeries with more to come. When Lucas told me he wanted to do this to help raise money for trinity house, , one I was super proud of him and two I was shocked, not because he isn’t a kind caring boy. Because Lucas only has oxygen levels that sit between 75% - 85% meaning that any kind of exercise can be extremely difficult for him. We sat down and discussed all this and he still was adamant he wanted to take part 🤍 So I told him no matter how long it takes us, we’ll do it together 🥰 Even if I have to piggy back him across the finish line!
