Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 30th November, whilst I was in Canada saying goodbye to my grandfather, my father's brother, my Uncle Paul, also died here in the UK. He was an unusual character, a gentle man but also a big story-teller with a huge sense of humour. He was a skilled craftsman with his own successful business of many years, and talented musically, performing everything from classical to rock music, most recently being an accomplished, self-taught bag-pipe player.

So I have set myself a physical challenge to complete a virtual climb of Mount Everest across 3 weeks in January, 2022. That will be 58,070 steps - or the equivalent of 3,871 flights of stairs - and at pace of 80 steps a minute on an inclined, stepping machine (please see picture above), for about 35 minutes a day, 7 days a week, I should just about be able to do it.

I hope that you will sponsor me to complete this challenge so that I can raise money in Uncle Paul's memory, money that will help the mental health charity 'Mind' do even more good work, to help even more people.

Thank you for your support and please check back for updates on my progress.
