Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

Earlier this year, Lucas's Great Grandma was diagnosed with vascular Dementia. She is an 87 year old amazing lady who has always said: 'please God, don't ever let me lose my marbles'. She has been through so much throughout her life and now this crippling disease is destroying who she is. Lucas was devastated when he heard the news. We had to explain to him what dementia was and what will happen next which was hard considering we hadn't, at the time, much knowledge on ourselves. So after learning how life destroying dementia can be, he wanted to do all he could to help. He told us he wanted to raise money to help find a cure and to help other families who are dealing with a family member suffering such an awful disease. So this year he has opted to take part in a 1 mile long obstacle course, which just so happens to fall on his 10th birthday instead of having his usual birthday party with all of his friends. He will invite 3 friends to run along with him in fancy dress and hopefully complete the course. 

We will record the event as i'm sure it will get pretty messy!
