Story
In June 2012, our family suffered a great loss. Our nephew Luca Chatha was still born. Our sister Sharon and brother-in-law Jas had to endure the torture of not just losing their first born, but the fact they had the shortest of windows to say their goodbyes.
The UK has one of the worst rates of stillborn babies in the developed world. 9 every single day. The parents of these babies are given no explanation and have to let go of their babies with very little notice.
Because of this Sharon and Jas, in partnership with Baby Lifeline have set up The Luca Foundation.
The goal is to provide every Maternity Unit in the UK with a Cold Cuddle Cot. This would allow grieving parents precious time to grieve with their child that they will never get again. Whilst Baby Lifeline work tirelessly to help reduce the number of stillbirths and babies that die within the first few weeks of birth, there are still thousands of parents annually living the worst possible nightmare for any parent. It is those parents that The Luca Foundation is trying to support.
These cots cost £1500 each. To help support raising funds for these cots, In June 2019, 7 years on from Luca’s passing, we will be performing a skydive in support of The Luca Foundation.
I ask all those who would be kind enough to donate in support of our skydive and the foundation to do so in the link provided. Every donation will be hugely appreciated and go towards supporting those parents going through their most difficult time.
Thank you in advance,
Sunny and Steven Nagra
