Hi my name is Luca I am 15, when  I was 12 years old I suffered from an Ischemic stroke and from that I was diagnosed with a grade 5 Arteriovenous Malformation in my brain. A condition that only affects 1 in 100,000 and sadly due to its size/location It was deemed untreatable. 

Because my condition is so rare We have to travel to Great Ormond Street in London to see my consultant something that causes a huge strain on our family in so many ways. 

The Archie foundation has helped and provided us with much needed support during the worst times of my life especially last year while going through open brain surgery. 

So when I heard about this years Battle of the Badges I Just knew it was the perfect way to say thank you and be able to help other kids/families going through similar situations.

I am excited to be a mascot for Steve too, I love football and for safety reasons I can no longer play. It’ll be lovely to get to be part of a game I love again while raising money for a charity that’s very close to our hearts.

We are fundraising for the Archie Foundation in the Battle of the Badges, Police vs Fire football match on 11 June 2022.
