Story

Remember Us, Love the West End: https://youtu.be/rh4FvdOSGyo

Theatres closed their doors to patrons on 20th March 2020. This has put the industry on the brink of collapse. Risking thousands of jobs for people working within the sector. Actors, Technical staff, Theatre staff, Theatre marketing companies, PR companies, Ticket agents and many more.  With the Government Furlough Scheme due to end in Summer 2020 under the current legislation, and theatres unable to open and no new shows put on sale for the foreseeable future, thousands of peoples jobs are at risk. HRH Prince Charles has urged the government to intervene among many others; "The economic logic of such support, long-term, is self-evident. Theatre makes this country far more than it receives in subsidy. Its value to London’s economy alone is roughly £5 billion a year. Restaurants and many kinds of retailers benefit from, some rely on, our audiences. Theatre adds £2 billion to the capital’s critical tourism sector. As we face an uncertain economic future, theatre can and must play its part in our recovery."

"Arts and cultural organisations have lost 95 per cent of their income. Theatre has been hit hardest of all. The three-month shutdown has meant £330 million of income lost. As of now, we’re staring at a closure lasting six to nine months. It could even be a year or more."

More than ever if you've ever seen a West End or Regional show it would be amazing if you could show your support by donating as much as you can. The theatre hosts tourists, educational groups, seniors, families, couples, individuals and really is for everyone.

We look forward to welcoming you back when we can.

All the love, Lee & the West End. x
