Story
Hi! I'm Adam - this year I will be flying out to Guinjata Bay, Mozambique to teach 200 children to swim, train 8 new swim teaching assistants and 1 new swimming teacher in collaboration with the charity Love the Oceans.
Our MISSION is to raise £5,000 to build a swimming pool of our own.
Drowning is a major issue in this part of the world, last year alone 12 adults and children lost their lives. This could easily have been avoided if they had the skills and knowledge which we can now provide.
The biggest challenge out here is the venue. Currently we have to cram 40 children onto the back of a pick up truck, drive 45 minutes off road and use a local dive resorts' pool which is not always available.
By building a swimming pool of our own we will be able to more than double the amount of lessons we can provide for the community and create paying jobs for the swim teachers we have trained. Our ultimate goal is to make the swim programme a sustainable community led initiative.
Swimming is a skill that will not only save the lives of the children in this part of the world, but will also provide the opportunity for employment and a better quality of life in the future.
Thank you for your support! :)
