Story
Many people have fallen in love with Lockerbrook over the years. The centre has been owned and managed by Woodcraft Folk since 1964 and provides schools and youth groups with a supportive and inclusive approach to outdoor learning. Lockerbrook is also a unique and peaceful venue for retreats and gatherings of family and friends.
We now face an incredibly difficult period due to the COVID-19 lockdown. We have had to close to the centre and do not know when we can reopen. This has hit us really hard as spring and summer are the busiest part of the year for us. The centre has no money coming in and is unlikely to receive any for many months. The weekly cost just to maintain the security, maintenance and health and safety of the site is about £500.
These challenging times place the centre in a very vulnerable position but we fervently hope that we can continue our mission for young people to develop and grow their love of the outdoors.
Your donations will help us through this challenging time so that Lockerbrook will be able to welcome groups again when they are able to visit us once more. Please do share this appeal and encourage people you know to consider making a booking as it is likely that we will be able to host private groups before we can open again to schools and youth groups.
