Cancer continues to affect our family in one way or another. Alan Shand (our brother-in-law) and Graeme Ogilvie (Damians brother-in law) are so far doing well in their own battles with Prostrate and non hodgkins lymphoma respectively. All the best guys everyone is right behind you.
In the past year our Granny (Isobel Aitken) has been diagnosed with Lung Cancer and is coping with this in her own way and currently remains in good health and spirits. We love you Granny.x.
On 3rd February this year our Mum (Jean Rowell) lost her short battle with Lung and Liver Cancer. She faced this with courage, dignity and a fighting spirit which inspired everyone. You remain in everyone's hearts, you were one in a million. We love you Mum.x.
We have been touched by all those in our family and beyond who have been affected by Cancer and decided that to do something useful we would embark on a series of fundraising events across 2010. We have set a fairly ambitious target of £5000 for the year but are sure that with all your support we can achieve this, perhaps even more!
The first event kicks off the year literally with a NEW YEARS DAY dip in the Forth! Known as the Loony Dook, fellow like minded lunatics will bring in the New Year with a dip in the freezing waters at the banks of the Firth of Forth all in the aid of charity. Please donate whatever you can, we are hoping as many people as possible will join us on the day, either to cheer us on or take a dip too!
