On May 10th 2015 I have set myself the challenge of completing The Great Manchester Run in memory of my wonderful dad - two days before what would've been his 60th Birthday.

My dad was the best man in the world - a devoted dad and granddad, family and friends to him was everything. When we lost him in October 2014 to cancer we knew life would never be the same again.

In our family many of us carry the BRCA1 gene and we have lost other much loved family members to cancer as well as my dad. We do what we can to fight, to prevent, to stop it happening, including risk-reducing surgery in some cases. Sadly for dad his battle was a short one.

The work that The Christie do is nothing short of incredible. When our journey began with dads treatment and care we were thrown into a world of chaos, fear, heartbreak, uncertainty... The Christie took excellent care of not only our dad, but his family and friends too.
