13 Mile's Hadrian's Wall Challenge 2021, 25 September 2021
To celebrate our 15th anniversary, we would like to help bridge the digital divide in Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead and North Tyneside. We would like to donate 60 laptops, provide internet access to 60 households and train 30 parents/guardians.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page!

Over the course of the lockdown period, there was heavy media coverage of the digital divide and educational inequality that existed in the UK, and rightly so.

However, since the reopening of schools and the return to "normal", much of the conversations that were taking place then seem to have disappeared even though those inequalities still exist.

Sadly, through no fault of their own or their familys', the future of over 55,000 families in the North East is in jeopardy.

In an age where even Universal Credit is accessed online, the digital divide that exists in society today is one that urgently needs addressing and resolving.

Alongside a group of charities and Success4All's youth members, I'll be taking part in the NE Youth Members' Hadrian's Wall Challenge.

All the funds that will be raised will go to Success4All, an education charity based in the North East of England that has been fighting educational inequalities for 15 years.

If you are unable to donate, please help by raising awareness of the digital divide and the educational inequalities that exist in the North East of England.

*Disclaimer: I am a full-time employee at Success4All. I strongly believe in their mission and the fight for the success of every single child and young person.

Can you believe that in the North East alone, over 55,000 families do not have access to a laptop, tablet or computer?

Success4All is an education charity based in Newcastle upon Tyne that ensures children and young have the very best chance at success no matter their circumstances.

Our Learning Hubs, Clubs and Summer Schools, support children and young people with their studies and boosts their confidence.

This year we will be celebrating our 15th anniversary. As part of our celebrations, we would like to donate 60 laptops, provide internet access to 60 households and equip 30 parents/guardians with 21st-century digital skills.

We know first hand the devastating impact covid-19 has had on widening educational inequalities, as well as further exacerbating the digital divide that exists on our doorstep.

With your donation, you can help shape the future of an entire family.

On their behalf, thank you!
