Story
Our lovely son, Louis was taken ill suddenly at home on Sunday 6th March 2016. He had been suffering from a virus which then developed into Diabetic Ketoacidosis. Despite the very best efforts of the medical team in Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital PICU, Louis sadly lost his fight and slipped away peacefully at 1.20pm on Monday 7th March 2016. We cannot begin to tell you how hard the medical team worked that day to save Louis. We are grateful for their honesty and how they kept us so fully informed about Louis' care. We thank them for the care and compassion they gave to us not only that day but continue to give to our family and especially to William, Louis' younger brother. For how they made every awful moment of that day easier - from making sure that Mark had somewhere quiet to rest whilst he could, making my passage across London less fraught, helping us with what and how we should tell William and after Louis had sadly passed away, helping us to say goodbye in such a loving and sensitive way.
We feel that being able to support Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in their ongoing care of other children and their families would be a most fitting way to honour Louis' short but wonderful life. We thank you for your kind donation and can assure you that it really will make a difference.
