Story
In September 2013 I was lucky enough to gain a ballot place to the London Marathon, after the initial excitement I began to worry about how I would be able to take on this distance.
Since then my world has changed completely just before Christmas my son, Leon, was diagnosed with having a muscular dystrophy and on 6 January 2014 it was confirmed that Leon has Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
There is no cure for Duchenne, but there is research and hopefully in Leon's life that there will be treatment to at least halt the progression of this devastating disease.
I will be running the London Marathon and raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. I will also be holding a Fundraising Afternoon at the Chuch Rooms, Send GU23 7ET on 5 April from 1-5pm. There will be games, crafts, teas, cake and a raffle. Thank you to all the local businesses who have already been so generous with their raffle prizes.
Leon is a very happy, funny and articulate 3 and a half year old. He has no idea of what the future holds for him.
