Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

On 12th July 2009, I'll be running the British London 10k Run as part of the Cardiomyopathy Association's team in memory of my cousin, Ryon Barr.

On the 21st July 2005, Ryon passed away due to Cardiomyopathy. He was 18 years old and as far as we all knew, incredibly fit and healthy.   I loved Ryon very much and was incredibly proud of everything he was achieving, to lose him was heartbreaking.  So, I am trying to raise as much dosh as I can for this fantastic charity who does so much for people living with cardiomyopathy as well as dealing with the grief and sadness it can cause.

To maybe help you add a little extra to your sponsorship, in September 2008 I couldn't run up my stairs and the very first time I attempted a 10k around 4 years ago, I walked most of it and was beaten by a man in a 10ft aligator costume.  Seriously. :-)  On the 5th April, I completed the Frimley Park 10k in 60 minutes and 45 seconds so am aiming for 55-56 minutes in July.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cardiomyopathy Association gets your money directly and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
