Story

I would appreciate if you could read my story to get a understanding of why this means so much to me. Thank you. ♥

On 8th May from 12pm-12am I am doing a 12 hour stream in memory of my mum on her birthday. I am raising money for Macmillan as they help out loads of families in many different ways. They are an amazing charity and deserve all support.

This is my mum's story.
She fought cancer for 6 years, she went through so many ups and downs with it. When she first was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, she went through 9 months of Chemotherapy, and eventually got through it and beat cancer. Then, just coming up to her 5 years clear mark, she got the devastating news that the Breast Cancer had returned. She had to go through Chemotherapy again and the tumour decreased, but after a while it spread to her skull and bones, making her lose her eyesight. So she stopped the Chemotherapy and had to get a few sessions of Radiotherapy until they got rid of the cancer in her skull, and eventually a few weeks later her eyesight returned and everything was all good.
Then, the worst possible happened. My life came crashing down. On the 28th of May, only 3 days after my 17th birthday, she got results back to say her cancer spread to her liver . She didn't want to know how long she had to live, but we got told by the doctor it would be roughly 4 weeks and nothing more could be done to help her. Her health decreased really quickly and also ended up having fluid in her lungs, making it harder for her to breathe. She went downhill. But I thought a miracle was starting to happen, as on the 9th June, she felt a lot better, she was able to move about more and was feeling a lot happier. It made me feel relieved. But, the next day, everything changed. She could barely even move, she couldn't get out of bed. We then had to get a hospital bed brought in to our living room and she stayed in that. A nurse came for the next few nights to stay overnight to make sure she was okay. She was really not the same person, I did not recognise her.

On the 13th, she got really bad. It was meant to be my last day of college but something in my mind was telling me to stay home. I just knew in the back of my mind that something was wrong. We had to ring Marie Curie and they were on their way to take mum into the centre. But she started getting very agitated, so the nurse tried to calm her down, but it was too late.
I just knew what was happening, and that was it, at 10:30am on the 13th June I lost everything, my best friend, my world, my life, my most favourite person in the world who I loved with all my heart.

Standing there by her side, holding her hand, wiping a tear away from her eye and watching her slowly die was the most painful thing I ever have and ever will go through.

I always thought nothing could separate us, we were like two peas in a pod. I was certain that she would have beaten her cancer again, she was the strongest person I've ever known. She definitely fought her battles and kept that beautiful smile on her face the whole time. I will never forget how amazing she was, she is a real inspiration, not just to me, but to everyone who knew her.

Thank you to anyone who reads this and decides to donate. Every single donation no matter how small will make a huge difference.

Thank you <3
