Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
As Lord Mayor of Westminster for the year 2008/9 I am delighted to be supporting for dementia as my charity. for dementia is a small effective charity, striving to improve the lives of people affected by dementia.
I have personal reasons for choosing this charity: my mother has dementia and her illness has tragically robbed her of all her precious memories. Caring for my mother, over many years, has taken an enormous toll on my family, and this is all the more distressing since my mother no longer recognises her close family relatives, and her quality of life is diminished.
The work of for dementia, providing Admiral Nurses to support family carers and delivering innovative training programmes to improve the skills of health and social care staff, makes such a difference to so many people's lives.
By skydiving I am hoping to raise awareness of dementia and generate much needed funds for the charity. Between now and April 09 (when I plan to do the jump) I shall be gathering around me a team of fellow skydivers. If you would like to volunteer to jump with me, please contact Kirsty Marrins at the for dementia events office (020 7874 7203) and she will be happy to supply further information about how you can get involved.
If you would like to sponsor me, please use this on-line facility, which is fast and simple and totally secure. If you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now! Thank you.
