Story
Please help Fleet-based charity DogsnHomes Rescue by donating to their next Aid for Ukraine DOGS and CATS mission.
DogsnHomes Rescue, has delivered over 60 tonnes of food, supplies and medicines for the abandoned Dogs and Cats in Ukraine since the war began. They’ve also transported refugees and their pets across Europe and to the UK on their return journeys.
In July, they worked alongside other charities and joined an international team of volunteers, including vets and nurses. They teamed up with Ukrainian vets at mobile ‘spay and neuter’ clinics to prevent a surge of unwanted pregnancies.
This initial two week initiative achieved:
- 1,559 sterilisations (spay or neuter of dogs and cats)
- 1,959 microchips, with pets photographed and logged on a database to help with reuniting and rehoming
- a five day visit at Sirius Animal Shelter - the largest in Europe with over 3,000 dogs and 200 cats (an emotionally and physically difficult experience) situated near the volatile Belarusian border
- the set up of mobile clinics in and around Kyiv, Lviv, Bucha and a Ukrainian based team in Odesa.
DogsnHomes Rescue is already planning its next mission and is looking into how the
abandoned pets in Ukraine can be helped on a large scale.
Gary Baxter, co-founder of DogsnHomes Rescue said,
"We are absolutely delighted that Louise has chosen to support our charity. The London Marathon is a fantastic event and we wish her all the very best for the big day. The funds raised will be used for our next mission later this year. We have an amazing network of partners in Ukraine who have put the animals' needs above their own safety and we will do everything we can for them. Fundraisers like Louise make this possible and we want to say a huge thank you!"
DogsnHomes Rescue are a small and passionate team of volunteers, working to help the dogs and cats of Ukraine. With your help, we can support even more refugees and their animals. Every penny of this appeal goes towards supporting the dogs and cats of Ukraine.
