Story
In July 2021 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical Cancer and was immediately put under the care of The Royal Marsden Sutton. This is where I had the majority of my treatment which consisted of radiotherapy, chemotherapy and brachytherapy.
All of the staff are incredible for the care and support they gave me and I want to do this Skydive to say Thank You to each and every one of them.
Today I am still a patient of The Royal Marsden as I was eligible to enter a clinical trial for immunotherapy. The results of this trial could improve treatment for Cervical Cancer patients in the future and I am proud to be part of it.
When I heard about the plans for the new Oak Centre at The Royal Marsden Sutton , I knew I wanted to give something back to the hospital.
So I will be doing the summer Skydive where I will freefall from 10,000 feet at 120mph to help raise the final £5 million that is needed to open the Oak Centre.
This new facility will house a new Rapid Diagnostic Centre. A new Medical Day Unit which will enable patients to enjoy peaceful surroundings whilst receiving chemotherapy. The centre will also bring together over 400 researchers under the same roof, speeding up life saving treatments.
1 in 2 of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetime. So please help make a difference by donating today and help the Royal Marsden build this revolutionary new centre and help them build hope, brick by brick……
Thank you x
