Story
Thank You for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have chosen 12th May to commence my fundraising and awareness journey - as this date is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.
I am currently diagnosed with this condition and it has drastically changed my life. The tidal wave of pain and emotion that hits you with any life changing situation causes you to think about your circumstances and those of others.
For those who know me I am a bright (frequently Bright Pink!) person. This condition can take someone who is educated, ambitious, hardworking and tireless and rob them of their ability to work, clean the house, exercise, potter in the garden, think clearly, and ever feel fully awake.
Those who suffer can also have also good days where many of these things may be accomplished. It is an unpredictable condition - with a roller coaster of depression, confusion and frustration for me. Currently I struggle with most basic tasks . I am wheelchair reliant and have just become the owner of a stairlift..... !!! Not a home improvement I planned for at 46 years of age! I am learning to accept help when offered - something I struggle with.
Many people I know, have fought or continue to fight physical and mental health issues in there lives - My own family and close friends are certainly no exception, but life must go on for us all - however we all find our way to cope ... There are many ways in which we as individuals, as groups or by good works and donation choose to help others - this is just one of mine.
I hope you will join me along this journey ~ there is currently ~NO CURE FOR THIS CONDITION ~ and while it is not considered life threatening (apart from the potentially bad wheelchair driving and falling off the stairlift...!!!!) ~ IT IS LIFE CHANGING! ~~
I hope to update regularly - so please join me on my journey. " Things are often not as you think ~ See Beyond the Pink"
Many blessings
Lou x
