Story
On May 10th 2015 I have set myself the challenge of completing The Great Manchester Run in memory of my wonderful dad - two days before what would've been his 60th Birthday.
My dad was the best man in the world - a devoted dad and granddad, family and friends to him was everything. When we lost him in October 2014 to cancer we knew life would never be the same again.
In our family many of us carry the BRCA1 gene and we have lost other much loved family members to cancer as well as my dad. We do what we can to fight, to prevent, to stop it happening, including risk-reducing surgery in some cases. Sadly for dad his battle was a short one.
The work that Macmillan Cancer Support do is nothing short of incredible. My dad's nurse, Andrew, was amazing and offered so much comfort to him in those last few weeks, when the rest of us were too scared to confront what was happening.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope that you will support me in raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, as a thank you for everything they have done for us and so they can help other families like ours.
