Story
WE DID IT!!!!! WE ROCK!!! We got up early, wedged ourselves into sports bra's (you know who you are) and new trainers, took a train, walked accross London to get close to the start and stood for nearly an hour while the temperature went up, the mayoress wittered on, the national anthem was played and a fat naked bloke stood at the window of his Park Lane Hotel room watching us all...and we watched him...it was incentive to move quickly.
The route took us past the Evelina and their supporters and I allowed myself a little think back to 6 months ago...but not for long...my feet hurt too much and it was too bloody hot!
We ran over the finish line separately...so many differing levels of fitness and experience that we couldn't stay together but I need to say how much I admire my friends. 2 had never run before (let alone owned the required scaffolding), 3 have two children, 3 work full time, all have busy lives and people who depend on them. So their commitment to the run and the fund raising was monumental...thank you xxx
And THANK YOU to you who donated....you are both generous and marvellous xxxxx

Our son Charlie was born on 6th January 2011 with a heart problem - but we didn't know this until I noticed he was breathing with difficulty 10 days later.
He had life saving heart surgery when he was 14 days old - his original due date. From now on we will celebrate his 're-birth' date on 20th January!
You can imagine the horror we endured - and I cry again just writing this and recalling the time worst time in my life. BUT! He is fine now, and so are we. And this is due to 2 things: the medical staff at the Evelina - who this money will go to, to save more lives. And our wonderful, beautiful friends - some of whom will be 'running' this race with me.
So if you know any of the girls who have 'volunteered' to do this, you will know this is indeed a sacrifice and a selfless act on their part. In fact I'm not sure if some of them even have running shoes!
So give a bit of money - I promise it will help other people. Because 3 months ago I became one of those 'other' people you see on a documentary xxxx
Quotes from the 'runners';
Linda; 'Well my friends better give loads of money just for the fact that I will have to wear running shoes and a sports bra!'
Louise; 'I ran this last year (smug voice) whilst 3 months pregnant - and I did a personal best! (scared voice) Did I say I would actually run this year...?'
Becky; 'By running do you mean faster than walking?'
Lizzie; Unfortunately due to the nature of the challenge, Lizzie has been rendered mute with shock since registering. Give money to help her talk again (or not).
Paula; 'I'm not allowed to run - my husband won't let me. Nor will my body...how far is 10k?'
Catherine; '..one runs marathons you know....'
Rest of team; 'kick her in the shins...!'
