Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The photo here is of me, my mom and my sister Sarah. In Apr 2009 my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given 3 months to live she was 57 I felt like the bottom had been ripped out my world and along with my sister went from being mom to full time carer. My mom deteriorated very rapidly and 5 weeks after diagnosis ended up back in hospital with internal bleeding. She hated it in hospital but because of the sudden deterioration and the fact that she couldn't stand on her legs there was no way we could care for her at home. Compton hospice came to the rescue, arranging an emergency Saturday transfere on the 13 june 2009. They were amazing, mom was made to feel like a queen from the time she arrived and the staff took great care of me and my family. We could go home knowing mom was in the best place..she had her angels. My mom passed away peacefully the following Saturday 20 June 2009 . Until cancer affects you or a loved one we have no idea of how it feels..Until you need the services of a place like Compton you never realise how vital they are to providing the care that people with terminal illness deserve, care that with all the good intention in the world I couldn't have given at home.
this year I did the 5 mile memorial walk, next year I decided to go a bit further and do the Kilimanjaro challenge. As part of this challenge I need to raise £3750 for this wonderful charity..so please, please donate what you can. thank you
