Story
Cancer can touch all our lives at some point and it needs all our support to help find a cure for this terrible disease.
Throughout my life cancer has caused pain and heartache to many of my friends and family.
My mum died of breast cancer at an early age, both my Nan’s and Grandad’s had some form of cancer. My Dad got remarried and my new Mum, brother and sister had also lost their Dad/husband due to cancer.
I too have had a breast cancer scare and had a lump removed, fortunately it was benign.
My fiancés work place is funding myself and the rest of his work colleagues to do the Big Zipper. I am taking my fiancés place due to his own personal health problems.
We want to raise money for cancer research in memory of Bill Robertson the founder of the care home my fiancé works in, who was a very good friend.
The Big Zipper the longest zip wire in Europe and is 153m (500ft) above the ground, it is 1600m (approx. 1 mile) long and you can reach 115mph (185kmh) in speed. You can see videos of it @ www.zipworld.co.uk
Nothing is harder than the loss of someone we love, perhaps their greater purpose is to love us from above.
