When I tell friends and family I work for Leukaemia UK, they usually tell me how little they know about blood cancer. 

Leukaemia can affect anyone of any age. Blood cancer is the third biggest cause of cancer deaths and sadly, many people are diagnosed in A&E because they become so ill they have to seek emergency treatment. 

The situation is improving thanks to advances in research, but there is so much more work to do. That's why I'll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 3 April. I'm equally excited and scared to run my first ever half marathon!
