Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This fundraising page is for Woodlands hospice in memory of my Dad (Jeff Mearns) who sadly passed away on the 9th February 2012 at Woodlands hospice.
Woodlands provided specialist palliative care to Dad throughout his illness as it does for many other people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses across Knowsley, Sefton and North Liverpool. Dad attended day therapy almost every Thursday as the support, advice and friendship he received from the other patience and staff was a great help to him. Dad was also admitted to Woodlands 15-bedded in-patient unit on numerous occasions and the care he received was second to none from both the palliative care doctors and nurses alike. At present Woodlands cares for over 900 patients and their families each year and the costs of providing this care are considerable but all care is provided free of charge so they really do depend upon the support of people such as yourselves. Any donations no matter how big or small will make a huge difference to families like ours and make a incredibly difficult time just that little easier.
