Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, i thought it was time for a new physical challenge. I've decided to ride in a charity race at Newbury Racecourse on 7th November. I am well underway with the training and have drafted in some racing experts to help me on my journey to the track!

There are 12 riders who are all raising money for the British Horse Society and a campaign of your choice. I have chosen the 'dead or dead slow' campaign. This campaign is especially important in Lambourn as there are a huge number of horses and many drivers are unaware of the behaviour and unpredictability of racehorses. I have personally been involved in many dangerous scenarios with uneducated drivers.

Campaign story

Riders, drivers and horses are needlessly dying on UK roads. The BHS’ award winning Dead or Dead Slow? campaign has built a solid foundation of road safety education and campaigning; to make drivers aware of what to do when they encounter horses on the road, and for riders to understand their responsibilities to keep safe on the road.

We’re committed to spreading our Dead Slow messages, and continue to work with horse riders, driving instructor organisations, UK Mounted Police units, MPs in parliamentary debates, Road Safety organisations and large corporations including Stagecoach, John Lewis and Next, which have driver fleets on our UK roads.

Horses are unpredictable. Passing horses wide and slow can prevent deaths of drivers, riders and horses Please support the charity and the work committed to ensuring the safety of horses and riders.
