Story
As most of you know my Beautiful and Brave Sister Jacqui fought this horrible disease for 4 years enduring gruelling intensive chemo and several major operations including a full leg amputation at the hip Unfortunately after a short illness she passed away peacefully on the 13th of April this year surrounded by family
Jacqui’s whole mission was to raise awareness of this type of Cancer Treatment has not changed in over 40 years and all Sarcoma are treated the same because funding is minimal for research as it’s one of the “rarer “ cancers It’s aggressive and relentless and the treatments used cause so much damage to the body that over time they themselves cause lifelong effects such as Kidney damage, fragile bones to name a couple
I want to continue to raise awareness and more importantly funds to find a way of making this disease one that can be survived in larger numbers than it is now
I have not been able to do a lot of walking the last year after being diagnosed with Long Covid and Asthma so my friend Larissa will be joining me to get the miles in together
Please if you can spare anything at all whether it be £1 or £100 it will be greatly appreciated All donations go towards helping others in the same situation my Sister was in
Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the specialist Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
