Virgin London Marathon 2016 · 24 April 2016 ·
In June 2013, a month before his 12th birthday, Luis Ghaut was diagnosed with an Osteosarcoma (a rare bone cancer) tumour of the fibula in his right leg.
Luis underwent months and months of chemotherapy, surgery and more chemotherapy to no avail. On September 3rd 2014 a few months after he had 1/3 of his left lung removed due to secondary cancer, his parents were told that Luis’ cancer was now terminal. They made the most of the time they had with Luis before he died and now want to help funds and awareness.
I have known Lee (Luis' dad) for several years and was so moved when I heard Luis' story. If, like me, you think no child should have to face what Luis did (so bravely), then please give to this worth while cause.
I am not the fittest, had my fourth child last year, and have been stomping round the streets of south east London for the last 5 weeks. I am determined to make it round and often think of Luis as I train. I have just finished doing 10 miles, so thought I would be brave enough to post my page and go public. Now I really have to get round in one piece!
