Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In October last year my beautiful mum lost her courageous battle against Ovarian Cancer. Throughout it all she remained graceful and dignified, even at her lowest ebb.

One thing that became apparent during her fight was the lack of knowledge of the path the disease would follow. Ovarian cancer is known as the silent killer, simply because the symptoms mirror so many day to day ailments.

We need to raise not only awareness of this terrible disease, but also raise money to support the specialists in finding a cure. Please find it in your heart to dig deep and donate, every penny may help people like you and me in the future- Ovarian Cancer does not discriminate- if you are female, you are at risk.  1 in 54 women will be affected. We had no family history of the disease, mum was a healthy person with no real ailments. I still ask "why", every day.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

We are the UK’s leading ovarian cancer research charity. In the UK only 1 in 3 women live more than 10 years after diagnosis. We are working to better prevent, treat and detect ovarian cancer, so that by 2032 at least half of women with ovarian cancer live for 10 years.
