Story
This year will mark the 10-year anniversary of my mum's death. When I was 12 years old my mum passed away after contracting sepsis, at the time I was unaware of what sepsis was and had never previously heard of it. Sepsis is a rare but serious complication of an infection, and without quick treatment, sepsis can lead to multiple organ failure and death. Unfortunately for my mum it was too late, but this situation inspired me to become a nurse myself to care for others and make a positive difference. By raising awareness, I hope people may become more aware of Sepsis, what it is and what signs and symptoms to look out for, as a student nurse myself I know the importance of raising awareness and how much of a difference it can make.
I am doing a skydive on July 27th 2018 to raise money for the UK Sepsis Trust in memory of my mum and to help raise awareness of sepsis and I would be extremely grateful for any donations.
