Story
I am luckily enough to have been chosen again to run the London Marathon for this very worthy charity, JDRF ( Junior diabetes). This charity is close to my heart, as well as family members and close friends.
Type 1 diabetes has affected family, friends and children I have worked with in school. My niece (Faith) was diagnosed unexpectedly at a very young age, as well as my friends daughter (Emily). My other friends daughter (Ellie) was diagnosed during her time at primary school. These times were challenging, having to learn to carb count, check blood sugars regularly, give insulin, deal with hypo's and high's. No day is the same. I have personally seen the daily struggles this has impacted on the children's lives as well as their parents. Watching the bravery and getting to grip with the day to day management has inspired me to want to continue to support and make a difference. Myself running the marathon will be nothing compared to the ups and downs they have to endure daily. Therefore, I want to run to raise awareness. Run to treat. Run to Prevent. Run to make a difference. Run to find a cure!!!!
Please support this worth while cause and make a difference. Every penny will!!!
