Story

2012...a new year and surely a good time to purchase a nice new pair of shoes?!! Why of course...but not quite the lovely pair of Louboutins or fierce Jimmy Choos you might be thinking of....no, they'll be a lovely pair of Reeboks or some such running shoe attire!

Yes, would you believe that I am actually going to be training for and running a 10k race in May!

Our friends, Rachael and Mark Scott, have asked a group of local friends to run as a team and support them in their bid to raise much needed funds for the Luton and Dunstable Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

This is no random choice of charity, but one that they hold dear to their hearts.  It was the support of this unit and the fabulous neo natal nurses that helped them to prepare for their son, Gilbert's arrival who was born over 3 months premature and not able to breathe on his own. Gil has now reached a very respectable 8lbs and is growing rapidly.

The L&D Hospital is increasing the size of its NICU enabling it to support a wider geographic area and to take on more babies and their famillies, that require their specialist care.  For this they are desperately seeking funds.   I would be really grateful for any support you can give me to complete this challenge and help raise funds for NICU.

Donating via JustGiving is really simple, just click on the donate button and follow the instructions from there.  So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you for your support.

Lou xx
