Our mum fought a brave battle against multiple sclerosis for 20 years before sadly passing away nearly 9 years ago at the age of 54.  Mum had a particularly aggressive form but, thankfully, it doesn’t affect every sufferer in such a severe way.

Whilst there’s not yet a cure for MS, positive steps are being made towards being able to medicate the symptoms. MS affects every sufferer in very different ways with varying degrees of severity. Many sufferers continue with what appears to be a normal life to the outside world with very mild symptoms. The other end of the spectrum is the very aggressive form resulting in debilitating symptoms that can leave sufferers in a vegetative state, which is sadly the end our amazing mum was within.

The shifting degrees of severity are what makes MS so difficult to treat. We all live in hope that one day a cure will be found for this cruel condition, but to get there further research is needed. All the money raised whilst completing this challenge will be used in the fight against MS.
