The Kilimanjaro challenge is an exciting opportunity to have an amazing adventure and raise money for a charity whose work I have seen first hand.  It was during my first visit to Chefchaouen in February 2015 that I saw what an incredible difference RifCom were making to the people living in such poverty in the Rif Mountains in Morocco.  It is very humbling to see how grateful these people are for the help they are being given, such as a new building so that the children can attend school where they will actually feel safe and comfortable.  Recently I took my daughters with me to help the RifCom team and it was an experience that will stay with them forever.

There is also a personal connection with the area as my sister's mother-in-law was brought up on a farm in the Rif Mountains. We had talked about visiting her homeland together this year but tragically she lost her battle with ill health on the 3rd of April 2016, she was just 59 years old.  I will be climbing Kilimanjaro during the one year anniversary of her passing and I know that Aicha would have been thrilled to see the money I hope to raise going to help people that are living like she was many years ago.
