Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Right now, someone in Worcester is trying to find a safe place to sleep and a family is wondering how they are going to put food on the table.
On the night of Thursday 26th April 2018, I will be sleeping rough for the night to raise funds to fight local homelessness and poverty.
This amazing event is part of CEO Sleepout, a charity that challenges business leaders to sleep rough for a night to help make Worcester a fairer place to live and work. The event takes place at Sixways Stadium.
There’s no known training for sleeping rough so I’m a little apprehensive about the experience, but your support will help to make it all worthwhile. I’m aiming to raise £1,000 on the night so your support would be very much appreciated.
St Paul's Hostel is one of the primary partner charities and a beneficiary of funds raised, alongside Warriors Community Foundation.
In addition, we will be giving funds to a handful of local good causes including food-banks. Maggs Day Centre and Sharon's Help and Hope are examples.
Worcester has one of the highest rates of homelessness in the West Midlands according to Shelter.
Figures in 2016 showed that the city has an estimated 124 homeless people which equates to around one in every 830 people.
