Birmingham City Council have recently given approval for a charity called Free@last to start an inner-city canoe club on Brookvale Lake, an agreement has been made with Brookvale Sailing Club to share their facilities which will see Watersports back to the lake by the summer 2011.

The canoe club will also serve as a referral service for a variety of agencies. Birmingham City Council are also looking at the opportunity to utilise the canoe club to deliver an extended service under their ‘be active’ initiative which will see local residents be able to utilise the clubs facilities for free!

 What am I doing?

 

 A 24/7 cycle relay covering the equivalent distance of Land End to John O'Groats! This is 603 miles (as the crow flies) and will start at 08:00 on Thursday 21st July and is projected to conclude at 20:00 on Saturday 23rd July. This relay will be broken down into 30, 2 hour, 20 mile individual slots which will run throughout the night! 

I am completing one of the 20 miles slots and will be grateful of your support.
