Story
Last year, my first age-triggered routine mammogram identified a small malignant tumour in my right breast. I had a lumpectomy, followed by radiotherapy and will be taking tamoxifen for the next five years. My cancer was spotted early, my treatment was successful and my prognosis is excellent. Hurrah for the NHS!
This year, to celebrate being alive and turning fifty I’ve entered my first half marathon - the Great North Run in September. I am raising money for Breast Cancer Now, who fund research and provide essential support to those diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
