Recently yet more of my favourite people have been affected by this devastating disease and I really wanted to do my bit to help cancer research find ways of preventing and curing so many wonderful people who are affected by it.

Last year I took one of my dear friends for his radiotherapy treatment when he was too weak to take himself anymore.  I was shocked by the amount of cars in the car park and there wasn’t a seat free in the radiotherapy waiting room. It was full of lovely people who all raised a smile as we entered, but they all had the same petrified look in their eyes.

Now, I’m not much of a runner anymore, but I am determined to brave the elements on Sunday 3rd February as my small contribution to raising awareness and helping with research.  I will be running with a group of wonderful friends who I go to the gym with and we promise to do you all proud!
