Story
For the month of September Nadeem and I will be taking part in the ‘50km your way challenge’ for the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust.
For those of you who don’t know, when Zach was 6 months old he was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, a childhood cancer affecting his eye. He has received chemotherapy and laser treatment at Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital and is currently doing amazingly well in the monitoring stage.
The 50km represents the approximately 50 children a year who are diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, with almost half of those requiring their eye to be removed. We’ve decided to challenge ourselves even more and double the distance to 100km EACH to raise awareness for this rare cancer and the amazing CHECT charity who support families affected by Retinoblastoma.
September is Childhood Cancer awareness month and with Zach’s 2nd birthday in just a few days we thought it was the perfect time to share his story. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and truly means so much to us.
