Story
Hi All,
Here is a little insight into why I am taking part in this run to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis UK.
Six years ago, May 30th 2009 my father passed away from Multiple Sclerosis a disease that is incurable, a disease that affects the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord). Symptoms can vary greatly in terms of severity unfortunately in my dads case he had the worst case. He had been in a wheelchair for as long as I could remember, as I grew up stronger he grew up weaker. As sad as it was to watch the disease take over such a powerful loving man it never took his brain entirely, he still had his charm, his witty humour, his loving nature and above all he was the best dad a girl could ask for.
I admire my dad because he fought till the very end to be sure in himself that both myself and my brother could manage without him, now I am a mother I too understand why he hung on as long as he did, you would do anything for your kids even if it means suffering yourself and for that I am forever in ore of him.
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss him to pieces but I am also glad he isn't in pain anymore, I want to raise money to help find a cure for MS so other families don't have to go through what mine did.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, please help me help others.
Louisa
