Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have accepted a great opportunity to run the 2016 New York City marathon on November 6th. My aim is to raise £3500 overall for Cancer Fund for Children, which includes a target of £1000 through JustGiving. I'll also be running various fundraising activities between now and November.
Please donate as little or as much as you can to support this charity (and also to motivate me on those long runs!).
I will really appreciate everyone's support.
I'll try to post regular updates on my Twitter page, @_LouisFleming, feel free to give me a follow.
I've previously ran Belfast marathon in 2012, but am expecting a completely different challenge this time. I'll be travelling with a group of people I haven't met before, so will hopefully make some new friends along the way. Add to that the risk of jetlag and change of diet, and it should be an interesting experience - but definitely a challenge i couldn't refuse!
Cancer Fund for Children is the leading local charity that provides practical, emotional and financial support to children and young people aged 0 to 24 affected by cancer & their families.
Cancer Fund for Children understands the impact cancer has on the whole family. They support:
•Children who have been diagnosed with cancer
•The siblings of a child who has been diagnosed with cancer
•The parents of a child who has been diagnosed with cancer
•A child whose parent has been diagnosed with cancer
Every week in Northern Ireland, another three children, teenagers or young adults, aged between 0-24 years old, are diagnosed with cancer. Cancer Fund for Children understands the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis and treatment can have on the whole family and that beyond the essential clinical care there is a family life that needs to be rebuilt. The team of experienced Specialists help families cope with the impact cancer has on their lives, and they support them through life, both during and after treatment, and sadly in some cases, bereavement.
Your help can make a difference.
£60 could provide a child or teenager living with cancer with a one to one support session with a Cancer Fund For Children Specialist.
£130 could send a teenager coming to terms with a Cancer diagnosis on an Everyday Heroes residential in Narnia, Cancer Fund For Children's log cabin in Newcastle.
£500 could provide a Travel for Treatment grant to a family needing to travel outside of Northern Ireland for treatment or surgery.
