LEJOG - Virtual Lands' End to John O'Groats · 31 December 2021 ·
I have signed up for the conqueror’s challenge of walking from John O’Groats to Lands End to help support Queenscourt Hospice. The challenge is 1,083 miles and I hope to complete it within 6 months (during lockdown, my only walking has been to the fridge and back to the couch so fingers crossed I make it out of Devon 🤦🏽♀️🤣)
As I’m currently locked down with my 10 year old daughter, Hollie, I explained what I was doing and she wanted to get involved to. So, she’s signed up to a challenge alongside me and will be climbing Everest on her bike! I’m sure the daily afternoon walks/cycles will be just what we both need after a day of homeschooling. (It’s a good job we’re not actually climbing Everest as I have a feeling she may try and push me down it if I try explaining long division again!) 🤣
Queenscourt hospice is a place very close to my heart as they looked after my amazing Nana at the end of her life. They are a local charity that provides support for the people of West Lancashire, Southport and Formby.
During the last year it feels like the world has come to a standstill, but at Queenscourt our work cannot stop. Our incredible team of Doctors, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Physiotherapists and many other roles continue to deliver first-class care to local people with life-limiting illnesses. This year we are celebrating our Pearl Anniversary and we need your help now more than ever. We receive less than 1/5th of our costs from the NHS and the rest of the money comes from charitable donations that help to keep the hospice running. 96p of every £1 donated to Queenscourt is spent on delivering and supporting this direct care.A £20 donation could pay for an hour of a nurses care.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
