Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.
I've been involved with Heart n Soul for over ten years. A pleasure and a privilege. But I've never felt the need to put my trainers on and run for them, a bus or anyone else before. But this time is different. We turn 30. It's big, beautiful and best of all, our little Lottie is running with me. Please dig deep. I can't see it ever happening again!
We are working on a project called The Big 30 that celebrates our thirty years of sharing the talents of people with learning disabilities locally, nationally and internationally. We are a small organisation with a very big reach!
Heart n Soul have commissioned 30 portraits of people with and without learning disabilities who have been important to our journey over the last 30 years. Artists, participants, freelancers and volunteers. Each person has then been interviewed and in their own words, talk about their life and connection with Heart n Soul. These interviews tell the story of the last 30 years of learning disability culture. The collection will form one of the first archives in the UK to represent people with learning disabilities in their own voices.
The money Lottie and I raise will go towards sharing the stories from The Big 30 Archive with as many people as possible through a summer of concerts, talks, performances and installations all over Deptford and beyond. See more about the project here www.thebig30.com
