Story
Hi All,
Thank you for taking a moment to read 😊
Currently the Save the Children Emergency Fund supports humanitarian crisis’ in Turkey & Syria (earthquake), Ukraine (war), The Horn of Africa (droughts), Pakistan (floods) and much more.
In 2022, the Emergency Fund reached over 27.3 million children and families in 29 countries around the world.
Being Part of the GSK Global Health Team has inspired me to play my part in helping to make a big difference to children in desperate need 🤩.
On the 23rd April I am running the London Marathon in aid of the Save the Children Emergency fund, with just 3 months to go I am now slightly questioning this life choice!
My Target is to raise £2500.
And best of all, my total fundraising figure will be matched by GSK!!!
Focusing on the most recent disaster in Turkey & Syria, up to 1.4 million children are impacted, Save the Children's well-established relationships with local organisations mean that they have been able to move quickly. But the scale of disaster is enormous, I am part of a GSK team working to get essential medicines out & distributed to those in need.
This is what your donation could currently provide for those in desperate need in Turkey & Syria:
· £5 – 6 thermal blankets for those
· £11 – 5 mattresses
· £23 – warm winter clothing for a child
· £33 - Emergency ready meals for 1 family for a week
· £49 – psychological support for 10 children for 3 months
· £108 - a cash grant for a displaced family to buy food, medicine & essential supplies
Thank you so much for your support, please do follow me on Strava to keep up with my progress @Lottie Summers
Best wishes
