Story
This weekend, Leo’s big brother Dax, his twin brother Oska, and baby sister Molly will be raising money in his memory as part of the charity’s Push For Preemies event
Leo was born at 24 weeks and 3 days and survived for just 4 hours before passing away. In our brief moments together, my world changed forever and after finding out his arrival saved both mine and Oska’s lives, I knew his life had to mean something.
Leo’s was set up 4 years ago in his memory, to help other families like mine, who struggled with the impact of neonatal care and the long term implications of having a baby born preterm.
Leo’s twin brother Oska, spent 109 days in NICU after being born weighing 1lb 15oz,, fighting against pneumonia, a severe brain bleed and extreme prematurity to name but a few of his early challenges.
Oska spent the first three years of his life requiring countless hospital admissions, including life saving treatment in PICU where he was on a ventilator numerous times, he has battled through sepsis and survived a cardiac arrest, alongside all of this he endured surgeries and many lengthy stays in hospital.
Leo’s siblings will be taking part in a lovely walk with us to raise funds for families like ours to give them the love and care they need to recover.
Leo's supports families of sick and premature babies across the North East.I am being amazing and taking part in the Charity's 6.0 Challenge to raise funds for babies born too soon to celebrate World Prematurity Day 2022.
