Story
After a few years of trying for a baby, we finally found out in October 2020 that we was expecting a little miracle. But in November 2020, we unfortunately experienced an unexplained miscarriage at 10 weeks. We never received any answers and was told the chances of it happening again were slim, and most couples have a healthy pregnancy after one miscarriage.
We had a difficult 12 months, but in December 2021 we found out we was pregnant again. The mixture of fear and excitement was overwhelming some days , but we kept hoping for the best. After some early bleeding and visits to Telford EPA’s we found out we was having twins and everything seemed okay, until another bleed at 7 weeks sent us back to hospital and we was again told, “I’m very sorry but you’ve miscarried.”
The NHS only investigate the causes after 3 consecutive miscarriages, so we would need to go through this pain again before we receive any help to investigate what is causing this to happen. After November 2020, we found Tommy’s and they helped us to understand that this miscarriage wasn’t our fault and they helped us grieve, and when our 2nd miscarriage happened, we turned to them for advice to hopefully finding out what could be causing our miscarriages as their clinic in Birmingham could potentially offer us some answers after 2 miscarriages not 3 like the NHS.
We cannot thank Tommy’s enough for everything they’ve done for us and so many others like us, so we decided to do our bit to raise money by running the Great Manchester Run and help Tommy’s in return to fund further research and hopefully stop unnecessary loss ❤️❤️❤️
